More Pictures and UpdatesI've been behind on updating lately. I think I'll be posting more now, maybe even do some blogging. I've started posting on my Pownce Page, it's usually fun links I found on the web and maybe some micro blogging. The summer of 2007 is almost over and so much has happened over the past few months. It's been a summer of seeing old friends/family and even meeting some new ones. The year's no where near over yet, so who knows what's going to happen. I've posted some pictures from recent activities for all to enjoy: The Navoa family from Arizona stopped by around the July 4th holiday for a visit. We did the usual Philly site seeing: Liberty Bell, Art Museum, Pat's Steaks! We tried to do fireworks but the rain hindered that. Like I posted earlier, we did the July 4th thing...BBQ with umbrellas...thanks to Kelly and Joni for getting that started. I think Kelly has found her calling...BBQ. Click to Continue Reading...
Next up is our Catskills Trip (7/18-7/22). I was surprised by the Catskills. I wasn't sure what to expect. I've heard good things before, but this was our first time there. The area so beautiful and scenic. We stayed at the Friar Tuck Resort . The resort has that "old world" charm. The units were like swiss chalets and the buildings had that medieval feel to them. Our Condo was nice and clean but parts of the resort just felt run down. I think they just need to spruce things up a bit. It looks like winter sports is the main attraction here, but there is plenty to do in the summer. We spent most of the trip driving the beautiful countryside and exploring all the little places and towns. We even took a ride on the Delaware & Ulster Railroad. That was fun and the views are gorgeous. The ride is highly recommended. Next time we go to the Catskills, I hope to do some camping.
Julie and Joni's Birthday Party (8/12) Since Julie and Joni both have birthdays in the same month, we decided to have a little gathering for them. We all had a great time and we got to meet Stephen for the first time. It was nice to see people that we haven't seen in a while. Labor Day Weekend is the latest event. It marked the first time we met our new found cousin (Grana side) Daisy Guy and her husband Tom. They spent the entire weekend with us and we did the usual Philly sightseeing. Of course we made a trip to Pat's for some wonderful Cheesesteaks (Wiz Wit)! The regular crew stopped by on Sunday for some BBQ and Wii! By herbg at Sep 5 2007 - 5:27pm | read more | add new comment
